Monday’s M&Ms

From this day on, unless I have some breaking news (haha, what a joke, wink wink), Mondays’ posts will be categorized under “M&Ms”, meaning every bullet point will start with a category that begins with the letter m. The following should make this more clear. Enjoy!

  1. Movie of the week: Sophie’s Choice with my all-time favorite, the infamous Meryl Streep.
  2. Motto: “Take the cookies when they’re passed,” meaning embrace life’s opportunities, don’t hesitate or hold back. Explore. Experiment. This is your chance. This is your time. Don’t let the “cookies” pass by. Life is too short.
  3. Music: It’s not that new, but I’m still besotted with Gotye’s Somebody that I Used to Know.
  4. Memory:“Newspapering” (i.e., duck taping newspaper to a door frame from top to bottom) my headmistress into her apartment and then making noise upstairs, so when she opened her door, she was faced with a wall of paper that she had to punch her way through. Seeing her fist tear through the newspaper with such force still cracks me up. However, being woken up at 5.30 to chisel gum off the tables in the dining room is not such a positive memory

  5. Makeup of envy:

Poppy red lips (click to find where to purchase the top brand for this color, Chanel), nude eyes, and the beachy hair.

  6. Meal of the week:

Salad mixed with feta cheese, salted pumpkin seeds, marinated and grilled tempeh, and dressed with balsamic vinaigrette, accompanied by a bulgur, butternut squash, and kale pilaf.

  7. Must-have:

    This outfit in grown-up size…

  8. Mansion of my dreams:

An old villa in Italy. I love the “rustiness”.

  9. Mum of the week:

Jessica Alba and her youngest daughter, Haven. I love that she has spilled juice on her trousers; it “humanizes” celebrities who are usually a picture of perfection…

  10. Model of note:

Cara Delevigne shrouded in a billowing Navajo cape and feathered, wide-brimmed hat by Daniella Helayel at last week’s London Fashion Week.

  11. Movie star:

Meryl Streep in her first movie (and the only movie I watched this week…), Sophie’s Choice.

  12. Midnight snack:

Green & Black's organic milk chocolate, salted pistachios, and Turkish apricots. Lovely combination of sweet and salt, healthful and indulgent.

  13. M-word of the day: Maggotish (a.): full of whims or fancies. Interesting, considering maggots are the yucky, white, footless larva of flies. What would some of your M for Mondays be?
